If you noticed , there were no new posts for the last few months. The reason is I made a big change in my life.

I moved to Canada !!!!!

It is fall now and I can smell the winter coming. I am sure that I will not like winter :(

well, now I am more or less settled and will continue sharing my knowledge!

I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate at Open Source Health Care Alliance(OSCHA) 2007 conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My interest was in integrating health care systems with Disaster Management solutions.

what i wanted to give and take back from this conference was
"How SAHANA can be a data collection source for health care".

As i see there are two perspectives to this

1. SAHANA is deployed at the time of disaster and disaster victim
data ,shelter data,ect that is collected can be used by health care
applications. "Disasters are followed by health concerns and problems, what ever the type of disaster. Therefore healthcare workers must be aware of and be familiar with Sahana, as they will also be able to use the information to anticipate and plan healthcare initiatives."

Headed by Track 4 Facilitator Bobby Soriano, AS2-Pilipinas hosted a dinner for me and my wife Mathisha and for my colleague Mifan. It was an eat-all-you-can evening on 25 April 2007 in all-Filipino Cabalen Restaurant in Metro Manila's central business district of Makati City.

The group included Trixie, Cheekay, Joanna, Pretchie, Dianne, Myra, Magie, Jerome and fossy Franics.

The eat-all-can buffet had too much choice(like FOSS ,where it is a good thing to have choice) , i simply could not taste all of them. I still can visualize those tasty food :) yum, yum.
I wish some one will open a Filipino restaurant in Sri Lanka , instead of just Chinese.
